Setting a “Stop Date” to Quit Smoking

It's more than just a key stage to stopping smoking...

So, you want to quit smoking huh? It doesn’t seem real quite yet. You’ve told yourself that you’d quit smoking time and time again. But alas, you’re still firing up those cigarettes! How on earth do you plan to quit? Well, for starters, you could stop going to the store and buying the pack. Maybe you could just refuse to light them up! But that requires some unheard of will power. Let’s see if we can gradually ease off the dangerous things without having a panic attack.

We all know what smoking leads to. If you’re from a family of smokers, odds are you know all too well what prolonged cigarette addiction does to a human body. Instead of going out to spend your hard-earned money on different gimmicks and programs, we’re going to try to quit smoking on our own. We’re going to set a stop date.

How the Stop Date can Work for You

The goal here is for you to give yourself two weeks to quit smoking. That’s right; in only 14 days, we’re going to completely break that bad habit. How will we do that? It’s easy. We’re going in two-day chunks:

  • On days 1-2, we want to completely cut our smoking in half. If you smoke a pack a day (20 cigs) cut it back to 10.
  • On days 3-4, we’re going to stop smoking those cigs down to the filter. Try butting them out halfway.
  • Days 5-6, go ahead and throw away your ashtrays. I mean it! Don’t hide them – completely throw them away and get them out of your house.
  • With days 7-8, we want to announce to everyone we know that our goal is almost here. We’ll ask them respectfully not to light up around us.
  • On days 9-10, we’re going to stop buying cigarette all together. Whatever you have left is what you’re going to smoke.
  • 11 and 12, we want to start replacing this habit for good. Go buy massive quantities of chewing gum or beef jerky.
  • On the last two days, 13-14, we want to start forgetting what cigarettes are like. Here you are with no ashtrays, no cigarettes, and no desire to go back.

When you’re trying to quit smoking, it’s always good to remember that you’re the one in charge. After these 14 days are up, the only way you’re going to get a cigarette is if you go buy a pack. Your friends all know you’ve quit smoking, and won’t support your habit. For a complete system that can support you through this often difficult change check out this site ==> Click here
